Still think it's weird you guys celebrate this holiday on a random Thursday in late November.
I'm not saying early to mid October is somehow superior. It's the Thursday bit I don't fully understand. Hey, maybe there's a reason my silly Canadian brain just isn't aware of. If so, please enlighten me.

In any case, I hope you folks across the border have a good one, if that's your thing.

well, that is a very good question about the Thursday. I do know that it has been a part of American history for ever. practiced during the 17th and 18th century by many states, it fell out of favor in the early 19th century. in 1863 Abraham Lincoln inaugurated the celebration again on the 4th Thursday of November. It wasn't until right befor world war ii that it became a national holiday through a law signed by franklin Roosevelt.

you guys in Canada have a Monday holiday for every month which is pretty cool.

I don't always spend it with family. Even alone, I still eat good though.
Laughing.

I'm with Forereel. I also make a cranberry compote, don't know about this year since we'll be going to other's houses this time. But I do love the smell of cooking turkey and potatos.

No turkey here. It's all about the honey-glazed ham. Mmm.
